WSGS Earthquake Monitoring

The WSGS maintains several Raspberry Shake seismographs around Wyoming to improve earthquake monitoring and to fill gaps between other regional and national seismic networks. Raspberry Shakes are professional-grade personal seismographs that allow scientists, educational institutions, and geology enthusiasts to monitor earthquakes and ground vibrations in real time. The devices continuously sense and record ground motion, capable of detecting everything from large earthquakes on the other side of the planet to small, local tremors that can’t be felt by humans.
