Jill Ottman joined the Wyoming State Geological Survey (WSGS) staff in January 2020. She is responsible for maintaining office and field equipment, purchasing supplies, inventory, archives, and fleet vehicles. She also serves as backup for front office sales and public contact.
Jill has a B.S. in geography and a year of graduate studies, both from the University of Wyoming, with a focus on physical geography. She came to the WSGS after more than five years at a local environmental impact studies firm. She has published several academic papers, and continues to write and work on several personal research projects. Her first love is traveling, both abroad and domestically. She stays in touch with friends near and far, and enjoys choral singing, reading books, watching films, cooking, camping, kayaking, visiting museums, sewing, eclipse chasing, and wandering the landscape of the American West.
