Colby Schwaderer

Colby joined the Wyoming State Geological survey in 2023, working as geologist in the Geologic Hazards, Groundwater, and GIS division. Originally an Ohio native, he received his B.S. in geology from Marietta College and an M.S. in geoscience from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, focusing on investigating climate and tectonic controls on non-marine sedimentation in the Green River Basin, southwestern Wyoming. Colby’s background includes experience in field mapping, detrital mineral geochronology, fluvial sedimentology, sedimentary petrography, and invertebrate paleontology. Outside of work, he enjoys long distance backpacking, bike touring, fly fishing, cross-country skiing, and exploring historic mining sites throughout the state.
