Rachel Toner

Rachel Toner

Rachel Toner has been employed as a Wyoming State Geological Survey (WSGS) oil and gas geologist since March 2013. A native of Sheridan, Wyoming, she received B.S. and M.S. degrees in geology from the University of Wyoming. She has previously worked as a GIS/database analyst for an environmental and engineering firm, as a WSGS contract geologist, and in hydrology positions.

Her current work at the WSGS alternates between researching the Powder River and Denver basins' stacked unconventional reservoirs and conducting critical mineral sampling and mapping programs in the Medicine Bow Mountains. She also develops and maintains online GIS mapping platforms for Wyoming's oil and gas reservoir and infrastructure data.

Outside of work, Rachel enjoys traveling, playing tennis and softball, camping, and exercising her Siberian huskies.
